Courses related to informal settlements and poor urban communities have to build on up-to-date and locally relevant knowledge. Indigenous case studies establishing such knowledge are broadly missing for the Indian context. Therefore, case studies form an essential basis for developing courses and related learning, teaching and training material in the context of informal housing. Within the framework of the BInUCom project, 16 such case studies (see https://mdl.donau-uni.ac.at/binucom/mod/page/view.php?id=188) from four different urban agglomerations were elaborated and thereby provided Indian partner institutions with an enlarged basis from which to draw information for course development and implementation.

By this, syllabi of courses related to informal settlements and poor urban communities, which contain up to date and locally relevant knowledge have evolved from and be prepared for 17 courses at different levels of academic education in planning and architecture. Most of these syllabi have likewise been implemented at the partner institutions. Extensive course descriptions can be found here.
